Coffee Time

Coffee Time

“You are always at a cafe”  is a remark that I tend to hear a lot. Well, blame it on being a person who has no fixed office and tends to find home too noisy and laden with chores to write peacefully. I tend to therefore head out to a cafe and sit and scribble a bit or even catch up on reading there. Anu and I tend to make it a point to sit and have a coffee or hot chocolate together every evening before heading home (we actually met for the first time at a cafe – Cafe Coffee Day, Janpath). Now, for obvious reasons, I tend to prefer cafes which tend to let me work in peace and are easily accessible. I am not much of a coffee purist but yes, I do know what I like and it is generally coffee with a bit of bite, and chocolate additions to it do not harm its cause – so yes, it is generally Capuccino, hot chocolate and some form of Cafe Mocha for me.

However, as I am often in cafes, I often end up being asked which are my favourite cafes. So on International Coffee Day, I decided to put down the seven I liked a lot. Not surprisingly, they are all in the two cities I tend to be in – Delhi and Bangalore.  They are mostly in central locations. And yes, some might not find them the greatest in terms of coffee, presentation and whatnot, but what the heck, I find it easy to work there, and there’s a decent chance you might find me in them at some stage of the day.
